Enjoy a Month of Lattes for Under £10!

Latte

With more of us working remotely, we are cutting out the commute along with our daily coffee shop visits. This means we can be making some great savings on our regular caffeine hits by purchasing freshly roasted coffee and creating drinks from home, using our preferred preparation method. With general living costs on the increase, there will be plenty of us looking for ways to cut down on costs without sacrificing our day-to-day luxuries, such as fresh, delicious coffee.

One way we can cut down on our weekly spending is to switch from buying from High Street coffee shops to preparing our coffees at home. With a bit of quality equipment and some freshly roasted coffee, it’s easy to create wonderful, flavoursome and aromatic drinks at home every day, while saving money.

Espresso

Let’s look at some of the numbers…

The average cost of a medium latte containing two espresso shots, purchased from a High Street coffee chain, is currently around £3.80.

With one bag of our 908g espresso grind Italian Coffee, available at £20.99, you can expect to pour somewhere around 128 shots of espresso, or 64 double-shot lattes. That’s 64 medium lattes for £20.99, around 33p per drink, or under £10 for a latte a day for 30 days!

Compare this to 30 lattes bought from a High Street coffee shop, where you would be looking to have spent perhaps £114.00 in total, and you’ll agree that it’s quite the saving!

Coffee Machine

Break even on your new coffee machine…

Of course, the cost of milk and sweeteners is not included, but there’s no doubt that significant savings can be made by switching from High Street coffees to homemade coffees. What’s more, you can expect to break even on the cost of a new espresso maker or bean-to-cup machine in no time, thanks to the savings you’ll be making.

Let’s take our popular Gran Gaggia Deluxe espresso machine as an example, available at just £189.00 from Coffee-Direct. If we say that you can save around £3.50 on every homemade, double-shot latte when compared to the same from a High Street shop, it will mean you will have paid off the cost of your Gran Gaggia Deluxe in fewer than 60 coffees! At five coffees per week, that’s you breaking even in just three months.

Coffee Cup

Commuting with your coffee…

If you’re on the move during the day, there are still plenty of ways that you can enjoy a cup of homemade coffee on the go. For a delightful caffeine hit on your travels, prepare your drink at home and keeping it in a Digital Travel Flask, which will keep it hot and aromatic until you are ready to enjoy. For a truly freshly made coffee, why not try a clever Coffee Press Travel Mug, which comes with a plunger to transform the mug into your own portable cafetiere! Then there’s always the reliable, durable Coffee Travel Mug, a perfect way to enjoy your freshly made coffee in the car, on the train or bus, or on your morning stroll to work.
Whichever way you choose to enjoy your coffee, you can be sure to make big savings when you buy your freshly roasted coffee from Coffee-Direct and prepare your delicious drinks from the comfort of your home.
