A mellow, fruity coffee with hints of spice and wine, Mocha is grown in the Southwest regions of Ethiopia where, according to legend, the first coffee plant was discovered by a 9th century goat herder. These beans are smaller and rounder than most other varieties, and are of the arabica variety, which is renowned for high quality and full flavours.
Mocha coffee beans create sweet, chocolatey coffees with fruity undertones, a light acidity and a slight earthiness.
The Mocha coffee bean came originally from Yemen, where coffee arrived from Ethiopia around the 15th century, and the name comes from the port of Mocha (al-Mukhā) through which most Yemeni coffee was exported before the 20th century.

I recently re-discovered the joy of grinding beans and using a Moka Pot but then the search was on to find the mocha coffee taste I used to get in the 60's. These Mocha beans ARE the ones I have been searching for. They produce a flavour which is unique and moorish to say the least and the quality of the beans is excellent as is the delivery service.

Not quite as 'strong' in flavour as I remembered- but very palatable all the same. I use Bialetti Brikka pot so one doesn't get much aroma really.
An all round quality coffee with a very pleasant, lingering aftertaste. I wanted to try a more neutral bean in terms of acidity- and that certainly is the case with Mocha.
The best coffee I have ever tasted, a mild chocolate flavour, reminds me of coffee from Switzerland, 50 years ago :-)

Really good aroma from the beans and the brewed coffee. Lovely flavour that can be enjoyed any time of day and that suits both me (I generally prefer a strong flavour) and my wife (who does not much care for any hint of bitterness). Definitely ordering more!
Lovely Coffee
A bit more of a milder tasting coffee, which was a very pleasant surprise to the usual dark roasted coffees. There's basically no bitterness, and has a mellow oaty sort of flavour. Really great to have as a long black, or cappuccino, really versatile coffee beans.
A very mild coffee, needs to be made very rich to get a positive taste hit. Sweet but not very chocolaty, no after taste. Might blend it with something a little stronger. OK for breakfast if strong.
Delicious slightly chocolate flavour. Delicious mixed with Mysor coffee for a balanced cuppa.
Well worth the premium cost of these beans. I buy the big bag to make it more economical.

Until I went on the Coffee Direct website, I thought Mocha was just a coffee chocolate mix with milk from the coffee shop. I always take my coffee black and this Bean is not a strong coffee but it delivers a mellow full flavour. I will buy it again
Full of aroma
The strong gamey taste of this goes perfectly with the smooth Kenya to make a taste to enjoy. Other coffees are sharp or rough edged by comparison.
