Our Dark Colombian is a slightly stronger coffee than our Colombian Medium Roast, which makes it more versatile as it is suitable for cafetiere use, filter coffees and intense espressos. Again using Medellin Excelso, from Colombia's Cordillera Central in the Andes, this excellent coffee really does display some of the finer qualities of the renowned Colombian coffee bean: a rich aroma, luxurious depth and sweet flavours of fruit and chocolate. These Colombian beans benefit from being grown in an area that is known as the 'tierra templada', the Colombian term for the climatic zone located between 900 and 1,980 meters that provides ideal growing conditions. The conditions in the tierra templada, or 'temperate land' result in a robust bean that gives a full-bodied coffee and an intense espresso, topped off with a hint of sharp acidity. In terms of strength and acidity levels, you might like to consider Peru Coffee. Based on the characteristics of this variety, you might also like to try guatemala elephant coffee beans.

Customers praised this full-bodied, rich coffee with "deep flavour" and "lovely aroma". Described as "strong but rounded" without bitterness, it works well for espresso and milk-based drinks. A few noted it was less dark than expected or slightly bitter. Most consider it their "coffee of choice" with "excellent quality beans" and quick delivery.
Really nice taste, easy to use in my espresso machine, its not our usual coffee, but we really like the taste so i am ordering another pack.

This coffee has the qualities I have been looking for, although not rated as very strong, it is full of flavour, and leaves a lasting taste in the mouth without being bitter.
The Dark Columbian Coffee tastes stronger than it actually is (if that makes sense). It is full of flavour with a hint of fruit. Very drinkable for any time of day. It has joined my rota of favourites. I drink this as espresso.

Ok for expresso
Such a relief to get more of the Dark Columbian coffee, I have tried others, but this is my home! Easy to order, quick and efficient delivery. At this stage of my life, it depends on the number of visitors as to how quickly my order lasts, but I will be back whatever! Many thanks from a happy customer - for many years now!

Nice flavour and not far off a strong coffee. Good for espresso and flavour is bold enough to make milk based drinks. Low in oil if your bean to cup machine has a problem with oil.
