Grown in the Sidamo Province of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is among the best of the washed coffees: coffees that undergo a process before roasting, whereby the cherry of the bean is removed before the bean itself is dried. Washed coffees benefit greatly from this process, as once the cherries are immersed in water, unripe ones will float and be removed from the process, while ripe ones will sink and be used. This ensures the highest quality beans in each batch. Legend has it that the coffee plant was discovered in Ethiopia by a 9th century goatherder, and to this day the humble coffee bean remains an integral part of the Ethiopian economy. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is a smooth, mild and great tasting coffee that can be enjoyed straight from the cafetiere all though the day, with a distinct fruit-like acidity that adds a pungent addition to the traditional mocha flavour. Customers praised this coffee for its "rich, delicious, complex, fruity" flavors with chocolate and raspberry notes. Many called it "probably the best coffee in the world" with "lovely aroma" and "smooth" taste. Some found it mild or lacking strength. This was a first time purchase for me, and not one I would have typically selected but for me it is a perfect blend of strong distinct flavours that give it a character along with real subtlety. Highly recommended. I made it on a medium grind (hand) and aero press which really gave a clean coffee. I used a larger amount of water as it can take it I personally preferred as a longer drink

One of the two best coffee beans from what was Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) the foundation country of coffee. Great aroma, medium strength, low acidity and full flavour. Not cheap but one of the best.
I have tried countless coffee's over the years, from cheap to ridiculously expensive, but they all pretty much turn-out to be dry and bitter despite using a Hario V60, quality burr grinder and temperature controlled kettle, along with endless variations in grind size, water temperature, pouring times and styles, and I have been on the verge of losing my enthusiasm for coffee altogether. However, this Ethiopian Yirgacheffe has raised some hope, whilst not being the full answer, it is without doubt the softest, least bitter coffee so far, and offers some hope at least, for the future. Maybe there really is a good coffee out there !

I was excited to order and receive this coffee because people have been raving about Ethiopian coffee. Personally, I was disappointed, and underwhelmed. I found the aroma in the packet to be very appealing but once my coffee was made, I found it somewhat bland. I feel a bit deflated after this experience.
This is my go to 'treat' coffee the tI like to surprise my wife with. Just the nicest flavour and top-notch quality with a lovely aroma.

When i bought my first packets of Yirgacheffe Ethiopian Coffee I did not know what to expect I made my first brew , the aroma caught my attention and the aftertaste delighted me and my friends.
The coffee is very good for daily use as it reasonably priced. The taste is good for V60 brew.
Bit expensive but love the flavour and delivery schedule is brilliant
My favourite beans. I use these all day long as lattes and espressos and find the flavour smooth and creamy. Certainly a quality bean.
