The Gaggia Classic E24 (Classic Evo) is the culmination of 80 years of tradition, history, and experience. With the Gaggia Classic you can pay attention to every detail and brew real, Italian espresso with the utmost precision. This is a machine in the finest tradition of Achille Gaggia, brewing an espresso with exquisite crema.
Designed to professional standards, the brew head is made of lead-free brass and the outside of the brew group is covered with a stainless steel cover, giving the best in espresso quality and machine longevity. The heavy stainless steel filter-holder ensures a consistent and stable brewing temperature throughout the entire brewing process.
The traditional group, large solenoid valve and traditional filter holder ensure total control over the coffee, while the professional steam arm will froth the perfect microfoam for your cappuccinos.
The machine also comes with three filters: a “perfect crema” basket to help you have the perfect espresso from the first use; a single (7g) and a double (14g) traditional basket that allow you to perfect your home barista skills.

Professional Filter Holder

15 Bar Pump

I've used a Gaggia Classic for nearly 20 years so I thought it was time to upgrade to the new Classic Evo with the brass boiler. I did a lot of research to see if the new version was worth the money. Yes it is. Solid build quality, timeless style, reliable, and easy to do most fixes yourself (if ever required). But most importantly, the coffee that comes out is superb. The whole time spent making a coffee like this has become a time to zone-out, unwind and decompress. It's become an important routine (it's good for the soul and for my sanity!)
And now onto the retailer; Coffee-Direct.
I've never used this company before and I can say without any doubt, their service is on-point. I had a minor issue with my order and they dealt with it immediately and delivered a level of customer service that restores faith as an online consumer. Delivery very smooth but none of the coupon codes I had worked & the website threw an error and wouldn't let me check out if I had the barista towel in my cart (which I really wanted, just not as much as the classic lol!). Apart from those minor glitches I was very happy! Cheers!
Delivery was prompt and it was well packaged. It has taken me some time to good coffee from it. It needs finer ground coffee than the D’longhi it replaced and also needed it tamping down more firmly. Once I sorted that the coffee was good. Still have not managed to get the cappuccino up to standard, the foam is a bit flat so it’s more like a latte but I don’t do that often so I may improve. I fill water from the top as it’s awkward getting the tank in and back. Depending on lighting it can be difficult to see the water level and I’ve overflowed it a couple of times. Heats up quickly enough and the filter holder is sturdy and solid.

A noteable step up from my existing bean to cup. Sure I replaced the portafilter but otherwise huge tank, consistent pressure and temp - superb build quality.

Ok. Packaging not great, in a bin bag.
Great espresso from the get go. Poor design lets it down a little. With the double spout filter & the huge drip tray there is barely enough room to fit anything but the smallest cup. Taking the tray out works with another cup under the dump valve but this does ruin the aesthetics somewhat. Will be ordering a bottomless filter & a thinner tray.
