Possibly the world's most famous coffee blend, and certainly among the earliest of known blends, the celebrated Mocha Java is a combination of two distinct arabica beans from Indonesia and Yemen. The Mocha bean, taking its name from the port city that sits next to the Red Sea, is a smaller, rounder bean than many other varieties. It is suggested that the first European to sample Mocha was the Spanish Jesuit missionary, Pedro Páez Jaramillo, who encountered the unique coffee during his time in Yemen. The Java arabica bean undergoes an attentive preparation process, whereby the ripe cherries are quickly transported to their mills once harvested, and their pulp is then fermented and washed off, resulting in the typical sweet characteristics of the bean. Our mild and complex Mocha Java displays a delicious flavour combination of fruit, chocolate and spiciness that produces a superb, well balanced cup of coffee, ideal for filter or cafetiere.

Customers praised this classic blend's smooth, balanced flavor with chocolate notes and delightful aftertaste. Many described it as "lovely" and "wonderful" for all-day drinking. While most loved the mellow taste, some desired darker, richer flavor or more mocha prominence. A few noted grinder compatibility issues. Excellent for blending with other beans.
The 4th time I ordered it. It is good as usual. Aroma, body and flavour are good but in the mild side. If you don't like strong coffee, it is pretty good. Will recommend this.
Classic blend...smooth mocha with a kick of java which leaves a delightful aftertaste !

A pretty good Java coffee but not enough mocha for my taste. Probably one to drink strong with a water on the side.
Unfortunately I found the java not as good as Kenya blue mountain which a will order next.
Great coffee compared with anything in the supermarket, balanced with good body and dryness. Best as filter, totally different taste in caffetiere. Good general coffee for your morning hit and keeping things on an even keel if avoiding espresso and strong coffee.
Great body and intensity - it's a stronger coffee so I blend it with other beans but I have made a 100% batch of this and it was very good. It's become a regular part of my coffee beans order.

Rich yet subtle tastes of balanced earthy chocolate, ending with a slightly spiced note. Enjoyed a naughty 75g per 750ml cafetiere as strong is always best! Would suit a sweet or savory meal combination, with a fairly mild aroma with the same chocolate notes that you get on the palate.

One of the oldest coffee blends around. Growing up in South Africa, there is not a coffee shop or supermarket in that country that doesn't have Mocha Java. Moved to the UK in '98 and no-one had ever heard of it.
I spent 9 years getting friends and family in SA to send it to me (very time consuming) I eventually found it on Coffee Direct.
The aroma immediately took me back. The packaging ensured that the coffee was always kept fresh and the quality was outstanding.
It's a good all-round coffee, great as a morning or after-dinner. Smooth and warming.

Good but not outstanding, for me. I would have liked it to be darker and richer tasting, with more depth of flavour. I'm sure some people will love this; I just have a taste for darker, deeper flavour, but still with a bit of bite.
I've just tried this and I can't honestly say its one of the best coffees I've bought. The taste isn't compromised by the strength. A great way to start the day

Boss proper nice flavour on it had a taste literally better than Costa or Starbucks. Combination works a treat and has beautiful aroma on it as well would recommend
