The city of Mysore, located at the base of the Chamundi Hills in India, was first introduced to the world of coffee by the revered 17th century scholar, Baba Budan, who upon return from a pilgrimage to Mecca brought with him seven seeds from the port of Mocha, in Yemen, before planting them in Mysore's temperate mountains. The seeds flourished, and we have Baba Budan to thank today for the smooth and mild Mysore coffee. The sweet and delicate flavours of Mysore combine wonderfully with a medium acidity, which allows this bean, perhaps unsurprisingly, to blend perfectly with mocha coffee. The full-bodied Mysore is just the thing for a spot of indulgence at any time of the day, and all it takes is a few minutes in the cafetiere to be enjoying a wonderful, all-round great tasting brew.

All of our coffees stay fresh unopened for up to 9 months. Our teas stay fresh unopened for up to 12 months.
Customers praised this smooth, low-acidity Arabica with "mellow" flavour and "malty aroma." Many appreciated its gentle, rich taste suitable for all-day drinking. However, some found it too delicate, noting they needed more coffee for desired strength. Several prefer darker roasts, but most valued the low acidity for digestive comfort.
Mysore Coffee is my favourite.
It has smooth rich taste and just a a hint of edge with a sweet after taste. I use mazzer super jolly to grind and flair expresso hand press.

We visit Mysore almost every year, and Mysore coffee has become one of those tastes we always look forward to. It isn’t easy to find in the UK, so I was genuinely pleased to come across it on Coffee-Direct. The flavour is just as I remember it — mellow, smooth, and the sort of coffee you can drink at any time of day.
Mysore coffee has a long history behind that gentle flavour. Most of it comes from the old coffee-growing districts of Karnataka — places like Chikmagalur and Kodagu — where Arabica has been cultivated since the 1600s, after the Sufi saint Baba Budan famously brought seven coffee seeds from Yemen and planted them in the hills above Chikmagalur. Over time the region developed its own identity in the coffee world, producing the large, clean Arabica beans known as “Mysore Nuggets,” prized for their low acidity and naturally sweet, balanced taste.
So for anyone who’s never tried it, Mysore coffee isn’t just smooth to drink — it carries a bit of South Indian history with it too.
Lovely, coffee with low acidity. It has a delicious malty aroma and light coloured beans. Makes a nice change from the burnt smell of larger commercial bean sellers!

For my taste, a little too delicate in flavour. I needed to use more than I thought in order to get a cup of coffee with any strength and depth of character.

The Mysore is great for me as I need a low acid coffee. It is light, yet rich. The packaging is easy to use and keeps the beans fresh.
This coffee is lovely to drink. It's not got that espresso, darkness, instead it's rich and full of flavour. It transported me back to the coffee stalls in Mysore and I can't recommend it highly enough

This was another low acidic coffee we thought we would try, but it lacked the flavour of our favourite Monsoon Malabar, which we will purchase again and stick with.
