A wonderfully smooth and well-rounded coffee, Papua New Guinea Elimbari reveals delicious flavours of chocolate and sweet caramel, with slight citrusy notes of grapefruit and green apple.

The Arusha coffee bean is a particulalry interesting varietal, thought to be from the Typica lineage that can be found in Papua New Guinea and Tanzania. Once picked the coffee is pulped, before being dry fermented for 24 hours in wooden boxes and then being washed and dried.

Papua New Guinea Elimbari is sourced from the district of Chuave, within the New Guinea Highlands, which are actually a chain of mountain ranges. This chain includes the Bismarck range, with Mount Wilhelm as its highest peak, where coffee growing slopes produce the cherry for Elimbari coffee.

Customers praised this medium roast for its "strong and intense" flavor with "lots of body" and "good after taste." The beans work well for bean-to-cup machines and blending. However, some found it "too acidic and bitter" or lacking taste. Service is "excellent" with fast delivery and fair pricing.

Lovely flavour, strong and intense

Lovely flavour, strong and intense with lots of body. It's great to get beans (not just ground coffee) from Papua New Guinea. Not quite as intense as other coffees from that region (Java and Sumatra) but that's not a limitation for me. I also blend it with other beans that are slightly more acidic which works really well.

My new go to for coffee

Ordered three different bags as I've just switched to single dosing. All 3 were great, all different. Great resealable packaging and quick service at a fair price. What's not to like?

Not as nice as the

Not as nice as the Papua New Guinea, the Elimbari was just a bit too acidic and bitter. You can still taste the quality, and some people may like the slight bitterness(I do myself with certain coffees)just not this particular one. That aside, the ease of ordering is fantastic, and the delivery was fast and hassle free.

Great Coffee

Found this coffee a few years ago, but then it seemed to disappear.
This is a medium roast with good after taste. Will buy again.

Papua New Guinea Elimbara Coffee

Just started using coffee. Plenty of flavour and seems a good replacement for the previous papua coffee.
