Whiskey Coffee Recipe

Whiskey Coffee

Whiskey coffee, also known as Irish coffee, is an iconic coffee drink that combines black coffee with delicious Irish whiskey. This simple recipe is extremely easy to make and delivers great results for a smooth, alcoholic coffee.

Make sure to choose your favourite whiskey or whiskey extract to mix in with the coffee and turn a simple black coffee into an elegant, warming evening drink. Paired with your best coffee grounds, this recipe provides a fool-proof drink that will catch the attention of all who drink it.

Whiskey coffee has captured many who try it, with the drink originating in Limerick, Ireland, and spreading across to the United States where it gained immense popularity. The drink is relatively gentle compared to some alcoholic coffees, but it can keep the drinker awake with the boost of the caffeine!

The oak and oftentimes nutty flavours found in a lot of whiskey pairs really well with the bold, fuller tones of coffee, making whiskey and coffee a match made in heaven. Whiskey can often highlight the subtler fragrances and flavours of coffee, whilst coffee can draw out the sweeter, fruiter notes of a good whiskey.

Whiskey coffee is often sampled in cafes or bars and doesn’t need to be considered an ‘evening-only’ coffee, though it’s warming and soothing flavours are often great for a colder night. You can enjoy whiskey coffee at any time of the day or night, and allow the coffee to whisk you off to contentment.
