Smooth Mountain is a blend of Colombian and Costa Rican beans, picked specifically from high, mountainous areas that benefit the most from high altitudes, moist, temperate climates and good soil, all of which allow the beans to mature slower than other varieties, resulting in a fuller flavour. In Costa Rica, for example, the finest coffee is typically grown at altitudes of 1,200 to 1,700 metres, but can go as high as 2,000 metres and still enjoy excellent flavours. While in Colombia, coffees mostly benefit in climates experienced between 900 and 1,980 meters, where beans take on a rich aroma and a luxurious depth of flavour. Our Smooth Mountain blend is a mild and mellow coffee, which shows hints of nuttiness in taste and makes an excellent all day drink, ideal for use in a cafetiere or for making smooth filter coffees.
